THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED
This striking image hails from the heart of South Central Los Angeles, California, where I was collaborating with the inspiring Compton Cowboys, a charitable organisation dedicated to guiding young men away from the turbulent streets and into the world of horsemanship.
What makes this photograph particularly compelling is its portrayal of a lone figure standing atop a car's hood, gazing into the distance, an area often associated with gang conflicts and adversity. The decision to embark on this photographic journey was met with uncertainty, as cars whizzed by, and the watchful eyes of passersby, some of them dubious about our intentions.
This image captures the essence of taking the unconventional path, of venturing onto the road less traveled. It's a testament to the enduring human spirit and the transformative power of pursuing a different, uncharted direction.
